The Colorado Trail (CT) is laid out in 28 segments starting near Denver and ending in Durango.  In the Collegiate Peaks near Buena Vista hikers have a choice of trekking either the Collegiate East (CE) or West (CW) route (or for the ambitious - a loop of both). When Mike had to make his route decision deep snow was still covering much of the CW, so he chose to hike the CE.  The pictures in the slideshow below are arranged they way he walked the trail in July and August, beginning with Segment 1.

In September, we backpacked the CW together beginning at Monarch Pass.
